Let me ask you somethingājust between you and me.
Have you ever really poured your heart out to God?
I meanā¦ you prayed with everything in youā¦
you felt it deeplyā¦
maybe even tears cameā¦
ā¦and yet, nothing seemed to change?
No breakthrough.
No healing.
No visible answer.
Iāve had people sit across from me and say,
āPastor Johnā¦ what am I missing?ā
And I want you to hear this clearlyā¦
There are many sincere believers asking the same question:
āWhy am I not seeing what the early church saw?ā
āWhy do I read about miraclesā¦ but donāt experience them?ā
Now hereās where I gently challenge youānot to condemn you, but to help you growā¦
It may not be your passion thatās missing.
It may be your understanding.
Letās Talk Honestly About What Weāve Been Taught
Somewhere along the journey, many of us picked up ideas about prayer that sound spiritualā¦ but are not necessarily biblical.
Things like:
āIf I pray louder, itās more powerfulā¦ā
āIf I feel more, God will move moreā¦ā
āIf the atmosphere is right, then something will happenā¦ā
We try harder.
We push ourselves emotionally.
We repeat prayers again and again.
We wait for a feeling to come.
But insideā¦ thereās a quiet frustration, isnāt there?
Because the effort is thereā¦
But the results donāt match.
Then You Look at Jesusā¦ and It Changes Everything
This is where everything shifted for meāand it will for you too.
When you really study Jesusānot just read, but observe how He ministeredā¦
You notice something very different.
Jesus never relied on emotional hype.
He didnāt try to stir a moment.
He didnāt build an atmosphere.
He didnāt strive.
He wasā¦ calm.
He wasā¦ clear.
And He carried authority.
Let me show you what I mean
When the leper came to Him, Jesus didnāt pause and build intensity.
He simply said:
āI am willing; be cleansed.ā
Thatās it.
No drama.
No repetition.
And the man was healed.
At Lazarusā tombā¦
Jesus didnāt try to emotionally move the crowd.
He stood there and said: āLazarus, come forth.ā
And a dead man responded.
When demons manifestedā¦
Jesus didnāt negotiate.
He didnāt plead.
He said:
āBe quiet and come out of him.ā
And they obeyed.
So what was different?
Let me say this carefully, because this is where many believers miss it.
Jesus was not operating from emotionā¦
He was operating from:
Identity
Authority
Relationship with the Father
He knew who He was.
He knew what the Father was doing.
And He spoke from that place.
Let me give you a truth that may change your prayer life
Listen closelyā¦
Power in prayer is not emotional intensityā¦
It is spiritual authority rooted in identity.
You donāt need to feel more.
You need to know who you are in Christ.
Can I be honest with you as a pastor?
Emotions are not wrong.
But when we depend on them, they can actually work against us.
Iāve seen it many times.
People become dependent on:
ā¢ a feeling
ā¢ a moment
ā¢ an atmosphere
And when thatās not thereā¦
They feel like God is not there.
But God never told us to walk by feelingsā¦
He told us to walk by faith.
So hereās the shift I want you to make
Not overnightā¦ but intentionally.
Move away from:
ā¢ striving emotionally
ā¢ hoping something happens
ā¢ waiting to āfeel itā
And begin to step into:
ā¢ identity in Christ
ā¢ confidence in His Word
ā¢ speaking with authority
Let me give you something simple to practice
You donāt need complicated formulas.
Just start here:
1. ALIGN
āFatherā¦ what are You doing here?ā
2. BELIEVE
āThank You that I have authority in Jesusā nameā
3. SPEAK
āBe healed in Jesusā nameā
Thatās it.
Simple.
Clear.
Faith-filled.
Let me speak to you personally
If youāve been tryingā¦
If youāve been sincereā¦
If youāve been giving your heart in prayerā¦
But you havenāt seen resultsā¦
Please donāt think God is ignoring you.
Please donāt think youāve failed.
The issue is not your passion.
Itās that no one has properly shown you how to operate in the authority Jesus has given you.
And hereās the beautiful truth
Jesus didnāt raise the dead because He felt somethingā¦
He did it because He walked in authority.
And hereās what I want you to really receive today:
That same authority has been given to youā¦ in His Name.
